Baltic Sea Camping: Price increase amazes families on vacation!

The Baltic Sea remains a popular destination for German holidaymakers, especially with the upcoming summer holidays starting at the end of June in some federal states. North Rhine-Westphalia follows on July 14th. However, camping holidays are becoming more expensive, as a current analysis by the camping portal Pincamp shows. Accommodation prices for a family of three in Europe increase by around 6% to an average of 52 euros per night. Germany remains cheaper than many other European countries at an average of 40 euros per night, with Sweden following at 43 euros and France at 50 euros. The most expensive prices are in Italy (66 euros) and Croatia (68 euros).

Camping prices are rising, especially on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast, from 47 euros to 52 euros per night. On Usedom the prices increase from 44 euros to 50 euros, while the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula increases from 43 euros to 44 euros. In contrast, prices on Rügen and the Mecklenburg Lake District drop to 41 euros and 40 euros per night, respectively. If you want to save money in Germany, you will find the cheapest camping prices in Hesse (37 euros) and Thuringia (33 euros). In North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein the prices are around 38 euros per night, while in Saxony-Anhalt they are 39 euros and in Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland they are 40 euros each. The most expensive camping prices are recorded in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Baden-Württemberg, where they are 43 euros per night.

Cheap campsites on the Baltic Sea

Another recommended place is the Ostseecamping Familie Heide in Waabs, which has been awarded with a wellness area, indoor pool and an ADAC super pitch. Prices here start at 30 euros per night. The Augstfelde camping park on the banks of Lake Vierer in the Plön Lake District offers bathing bays and a 600 meter long sandy beach, and there are also indoor and outdoor playgrounds - overnight stays here start at 27 euros per night.

The KNAUS Camping Park Rügen on the cliffs on Rügen impresses with its spacious parking spaces and clean, modern sanitary facilities. Prices also start at 27 euros per night. For a relaxing stay at the Großer Plöner See, where renovation work is taking place, the Lange Wisch campsite can be visited with prices of 29 euros per night. Finally, the Bernsteinreiter Barth nature campsite with a riding stable and leisure activities is particularly suitable for families and offers overnight stays from 36 euros.
