Travel safety in focus: Tübingen Forum highlights the future and risks

Safeture invites you to the third travel safety forum in Tübingen on October 14, 2025. The aim of this forum is to bring together experts, practitioners and decision-makers from the DACH region to discuss key challenges in the travel world. The range of topics ranges from the future of travel security in the face of geopolitical tensions to emergency management abroad.

A special highlight will be a report from a former Taliban hostage, who will provide insights into survival in extreme situations. Medical care for business travelers and expats as well as protection against social engineering and human hacking are also on the agenda. The role of artificial intelligence in security architecture and special insurance for trips to risk areas will also be discussed, supplemented by an interactive panel session on AI, geopolitics and business travel.

Networking and exchange

Participants have the opportunity to network in a relaxed atmosphere on the roof terrace of the “Tübinger Westspitze”. The event takes place in cooperation with the Alliance for Security in the Economy Baden-Württemberg e.V. (ASW-BW). The participation fee is 300 euros, while members of the ASW and employees of universities, NGOs and scientific institutions pay a reduced price of 250 euros. The price includes the documents and daily entertainment.

The topics of the forum are particularly relevant, especially against the background of the current Risk Maps 2025 from A3M, Safeture and Riskline, which show a deterioration in the security situation in 77 countries. Countries with geopolitical tensions, political unrest and climate challenges are affected. Of particular note are changes in safety assessments within Europe: countries such as France, Spain and Sweden were upgraded from “negligible risk” to “low risk”.

While Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Finland, Iceland and Norway are still considered very safe, the risk is increasing in countries such as Italy, the Netherlands and Poland. Outside Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan are considered particularly safe travel destinations. A study by SOS International also shows that 75% of risk management experts expect geopolitical tensions and social unrest to have a significant impact on companies and travelers in 2025.

Evaluating the current geopolitical situation and regularly analyzing travel risks are crucial for safe business trips. The Risk Maps 2025 serve as an important guide for forward-looking travel planning and risk minimization.
