In the first quarter of 2025, the two-country city of Ulm/Neu-Ulm recorded a pleasing increase in tourism. Loud Ulm News Arrivals rose by 0.8% and overnight stays by as much as 3.0%. This positive trend stands out clearly from the developments in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, where declines in arrivals and overnight stays were reported.

Managing director Wolfgang Dieterich expressed optimism and stated that the feared dip in tourism had not materialized due to the late Easter date. Two events that made a significant contribution to the positive development deserve particular mention: the ring meeting of the Alemannic Fools in February and the German Cheerleading Championships in March.

Upcoming events and their influence

There are also other exciting events coming up that could further boost tourism numbers. These include the German Music Festival, which takes place at the end of May and beginning of June, the musical “Saturday Not Fever” in June and July and the 50th State Trombone Day of Baden-Württemberg in July. Another highlight will be the historic fishing jousting during the Ulm Swearing Week in July. Outdoor concerts by well-known artists such as Robin Schulz, Sido and Wincent Weiss are also planned and promise a lively atmosphere.
