Wangen is planning new hiking trails and mobile stage for tourist magic!

Wangen in the Allgäu shows a strong commitment to promoting tourism by redesigning your cycle and hiking trails. The city recently announced its plans to increase the number of visitors by restructuring the existing network of hiking trails. The current hiking trails have been in use since 2008 and includes around 180 kilometers and 16 round tours. However, these routes fall behind the needs of modern hikers in some aspects.

The guest office manager Belinda Unger points out that the designation of the hiking trails is no longer up to date. There are also changes in vegetation and the property relationships, which sometimes also leads to danger spots. In order to meet these challenges, a comprehensive revision and redesign of the hiking network are planned. The first phase of the project includes recording the basics, planning the signage and the conception of a new hiking map. A leader funding of over 25,000 euros and an urban contribution of almost 17,000 euros is provided.

Investments in cycling and hiking infrastructure

The city council unanimously approved the project "Revision/New Conception Wandering Railway Wangen", in which a mobile stage for events in the garden show area is also planned. The mobile stage will have an area of 60 square meters and a height of almost five meters. In addition to loudspeaker wings, the stage will also have side and roof -based covers and can easily be built up by one person within 30 minutes. The total cost of this stage amounts to around 100,000 euros, with 60 percent funding being applied for by the leader program.

The need to modernize cycle paths and hiking trails is also a general trend in the Allgäu in Württemberg. There, in 2016, the project for cycle path planning was launched by the member locations of the Tourismus Tourismus Württemberg Allgäu. The aim of this project is to bundle the existing cycle paths into a uniform, nationwide network of cycle paths that is suitable for both everyday traffic and tourism.

Radreiseregion Württembergische Allgäu

The Württemberg Allgäu positions itself as a wheel destination and was certified by the ADFC to the cycling region. The revision and digitization of the cycle path network is crucial for the region's competitiveness. Significant progress has already been made in recent years: The LEADER funding was approved in 2016.

The costs of this project total around 400,000 euros, with over 300,000 euros being funded by the European Union, the district of Ravensburg and the state of Baden-Württemberg. The 14 involved cities and municipalities bear the remaining costs. This commitment shows how important the development of a user -friendly and attractive infrastructure is for tourism in the region.

The initiatives in Wangen and in the Württemberg Allgäu clearly reflect the endeavor to create an appealing and safe environment for cyclists and hikers who benefit both locals and visitors.
