Basketball camps on the high seas: AIDA attracts young talent in 2025!

AIDA Cruises and the Rostock Seawolves are presenting a unique experience for sports-loving families in summer 2025: the two basketball camps on the high seas, which will take place on the AIDAnova cruise ship. These special events are designed to give children and young people aged 10 to 14 the opportunity to improve their basketball skills while enjoying the maritime charm of the cruise. Crucero Magazine reports that the camps are part of the seven-day “Scandinavian Highlights from Kiel” trips, which take place in two periods: from July 26th to August 2nd and from August 23rd to 30th, 2025.

The camps offer a diverse program ranging from daily training sessions on the basketball court on deck 18 to team building activities. In addition to the focus on speed, throwing technique and tactics, participants can look forward to additional leisure activities such as film evenings, visits to the climbing park and playing games together. A highlight will be meeting local basketball clubs in two of the port cities visited on the itinerary. National coach and professional player Svante Schmundt will lead the training, allowing participants to learn from one of the best.

The camps are organized by Rostock Seawolves e.V., which also ensures individual support from licensed coaches. As an added incentive, participants receive a high-quality camp shirt and a water bottle. To ensure everything runs smoothly, an individual daily routine is put together for each child. An exclusive meet & greet with professional players is also part of the program, so that the young athletes have the opportunity to exchange ideas with their idols.

AIDA Cruises has been supporting the Rostock Seawolves in various forms since 2022, including sponsorship and programs to promote young talent.
