Batu Santek and Tibu more colorful waterfall-central lombok

Batu Santek Waterfall and Tibu Bunter Waterfall are two waterfalls in the center of Lombok. If you are looking for a short waterfall hike that is entirely off the beaten path, then this is the right one for you.

With very few information online I found these waterfalls by talking to some locals from Lombok. They are not as impressive as the nearby waterfalls Benang Kelambu or Benang Setokel, but they can visit them for free and you will almost certainly have them all for themselves.

How to get to the waterfalls Batu Santek and Tibu Bunter

Both the Batu Santek waterfalls and Tibu Bunter can be reached via a short hike from the same parking lot in the village of Desun Pesantek.

To get here, you need your own means of transport or a guide, as there are currently no tours that visit these waterfalls. It takes about 1 hour to drive here from both Senggigi and Tete Batu. For a precise directions, I have attached the position of the parking spaces from Batu Santek and Tibu to be bored below. Note that the parking lot pin is called "Batu Santek".

There are no signs for these waterfalls, but if you follow the instructions from Google Maps to this pin, you will see a clearing on the roadside with a large tree on which you can park your bike.

The way to the waterfalls Batu Santek and Tibu Bunter begins on the left side of this parking lot. It seems that there was a landslide here, so it is a slippery but short walk to the terraces below.

Follow the obvious path until you reach a river and cross it. From here you can turn right to follow the path to Batu Santek, and on the left to the Tibu waterfall.

Batu Santek Waterfall

The Batu Santek waterfall is about 10 meters high and plunges into a shallow pool. In contrast to many other waterfalls nearby, these two waterfalls have a decent current all year round. In view of this, you can assume that it can get pretty strong in the rainy season.

Around Batu Santek you will also find some smaller, rippling waterfalls. Since the pool is very flat, you can't really swim here. Nevertheless, it is a good waterfall to cool off and take a few photos.

Batu Santek Fall

After turning right, follow the river on the free path for about 10 minutes. You will soon reach the clearing of the waterfall.

on the right of the main waterfall there are two other cascade currents that whiten down the rocks. The scene at Batu Santek is great to relax, take a few photos and cool off in the freshwater pools.

Tibu Bunter Wasserfall

tibu BUNTER FALLE is another waterfall in the immediate vicinity of Batu Santek. If you have time, I would definitely recommend taking the way to see this second waterfall.

Search for tibu BUNTER FASS

As soon as you return to the crossroads at the beginning of the river crossing. This time, take the left path that leads up and around a few fields. After about 10 minutes on foot you can see a large clearing with beautiful rice plantations.

In the meantime, you will undoubtedly hear the tibu more colorful from the small gorge below.

To get there, follow the concrete path until you see a small wooden shield that shows to the right. Go down to the river, where you will find the Tibu waterfall more colorful.

Tibu Bunter Reisfelder

My favorite part of Tibu Bunst Falls are the adjacent rice fields. If you come shortly after sunrise, you may be lucky enough to capture the morning sun rays that fill the fields with warm light.

This scene was also a pretty cool drone recording in my opinion, since the Tibu waterfall was more colorful and the rice fields could fit in a picture! Alt = "Drone air picture of the Tibu Bunter Wasserfall. Lombok rice fields">

Make it a waterfall hunting day excursion

If you are looking for waterfall hunt for a whole day, you can visit the Tibu and Batu Santek waterfalls on the same day as Benang Kelambu and Benang Setokel.

In fact, both waterfalls are only about 45 minutes away with the motorcycle. Since we drove from Senggigi, we decided to first visit Batu Santek and Tibu more colorfully because they were closer.

The streets along the way are well maintained, even after the earthquake in September 2019. However, they need some motorcycle experience.
