France remains the undisputed most popular travel destination in the world!
The global desire to travel has continued to recover after the restrictions imposed by the corona pandemic and has now reached pre-crisis levels. According to the world tourism organization UN Tourism, a total of 1.47 billion international arrivals were recorded in 2022. France is the undisputed leader of the most popular travel destinations, followed by Spain and the USA.
France set new standards last year with around 102 million international visitors. This represents an increase of two percent compared to 2023. The country's popularity is due to its cultural highlights, diverse landscape and famous sights such as the Eiffel Tower. In addition, the upcoming Olympic Games and Paralympics in Paris have further increased tourist interest in France.

Spain ranks second behind France with 93.8 million international arrivals and has attracted around ten million additional guests since 2019. The US falls to third place with 72.4 million arrivals, a decrease compared to 2018 (79.4 million). Germany, on the other hand, climbs to ninth place with 37.5 million visitors, an increase of 7.8 percent compared to last year, although the number remains below 2019 levels.
