Munich expects a travel boom: 2.3 million passengers at Pentecost!

The Whitsun holidays have begun at Munich Airport and will last in Bavaria from June 6th to June 22nd, 2025. A huge volume of travel is expected during this time. Over 2.3 million travelers are scheduled for the first few days of the holidays. The first weekend (Friday to Sunday) is described as the busiest of the year, with over 410,000 passengers expected to fly during this period.

Over 17,000 flight movements have been registered, which corresponds to an increase of almost 8 percent compared to the previous year. More than 1,000 take-offs and landings are planned for Saturday alone, with around 140,000 passengers expected. Popular travel destinations are mainly located in the Mediterranean region. These include countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece, France and Turkey, for which around 6,000 flight movements are expected. There is also high demand for intercontinental connections, particularly to the USA and Canada, with over 840 flights.

The Asian region is also very popular: Thailand, India, Japan and the United Arab Emirates are well frequented with more than 380 take-offs and landings.
