Binh Thuan: Green tourism through digital transformation and innovation!
A recent workshop in Binh Thuan, led by Nguyen Hoai Trung, deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology, highlighted the crucial role of intellectual property in the development of green tourism. Vietnam.vn reports that the intellectual property will serve to protect tourism products, geographical indications and brands in the region while promoting research and technology application. This is intended to contribute to the creation of high quality green tourism products.
Nguyen Minh, vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee, in his address highlighted the essential elements needed to promote innovation and sustainable development in the field of green tourism. Important aspects include the introduction of new products and models such as community tourism, craft village tourism and ecotourism. These initiatives are intended to benefit not only companies, but also communities and tourists.
Linking technology and tourism
Of particular note is the intention to combine intellectual property with digital transformation and modern marketing to establish Binh Thuan as an outstanding destination. Pham Van Quan, a national digital transformation expert, presented innovative approaches to digitalization in the tourism sector during the workshop. The opportunities that digital technologies offer to improve the visitor experience are also discussed.
According to information from Binh Thuan News The province is focusing on digital transformation to strengthen development in the tourism sector and improve visitors' experiences. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has promoted digitalization in historical sites, scenic spots and tourism operators through the Binh Thuan Smart Tourism Portal.
Innovative approaches to product development
Over 40 tourism companies are already digitizing their products and services using 360-degree VR technology. A key element is the development of a database system that is linked to the general database of the province and specialized databases of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
An additional highlight is the development of an e-tourism trading platform in collaboration with Viettel Binh Thuan, which integrates online promotion, sales campaigns and tourism events. This platform has already attracted more than 50 tourism companies and organized an online tourism fair attended by over 100 companies and thousands of visitors.
Other initiatives include installing QR code stations at tourist destinations, allowing visitors to access information via their smartphones. However, future challenges include inadequate network and hardware infrastructure, limited investment resources and the need to improve human resources.
The province's plans also include upgrading the Binh Thuan tourism information portal, developing applications for online service bookings, and creating multi-service and e-payment systems. The province aims to create a 360-degree VR digital map and use AI and big data for market research and decision-making.
The aim is to provide free technology transfer and the development of synchronized IT systems for better networking and digital marketing in the tourism industry. The constructive discussions on the importance of intellectual property in product development and awareness raising within the tourism community suggest that Binh Thuan is well on its way to successfully meeting green tourism challenges and implementing innovative solutions.
