CMT 2026 in Stuttgart: Caravan trade fair with record visitors and new products!
The Caravan, Motor and Tourism (CMT) 2026 began on Saturday in Stuttgart and is considered the world's largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure. This multi-functional event focuses on caravanning and tourism and attracts both private and professional visitors who want to find out about holiday inspiration and the latest trends in camping. This year the organizers expect a number of visitors of up to 260,000, a performance that was already achieved last year.
The fair covers more than 120,000 square meters and offers around 1,200 recreational vehicles. In Hall 1, exhibitors present luxurious vehicles with prices of up to 245,000 euros. In addition to the expensive globetrotting vehicles, cheaper special vehicles and smaller caravan providers are also represented. Particularly noteworthy is the special show for self-builders, which offers visitors creative ideas for their own motorhome. Ulm News reports that the trade fair offers a clear separation between vehicle halls and tourism areas, which enables better orientation.
News and trends
This year, CMT is presenting over 120 new products and world premieres, including compact motorhomes suitable for everyday use. Particular trends can be seen in the demand for inexpensive entry-level camping models as well as innovative solutions for independent power and internet supplies when camping. Hall 10 brings together technology and accessories, while the gallery in Hall 1 presents mini vehicles and off-road mobiles. SWR Aktuell highlights that the trade fair is fully booked in this regard, with more than 1,660 exhibitors.
Visitors will find further amenities such as parking spaces with electricity connections as well as fresh water and waste disposal stations directly at the trade fair. For city travelers, the ErlebnisCard is an attractive option that offers free entry to over 70 partners. The trade fair also provides information about routes and parking space recommendations that are specifically tailored to the needs of travelers.
Challenges for visitors
Despite the lively interest, visitors can expect a more difficult journey due to S-Bahn closures between Stuttgart-Vaihingen and Filderstadt and Böblingen. A replacement bus service will be set up, but additional difficulties are also pointed out on Sunday. Further complications could arise at the state fools meeting in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. Parking spaces around the trade fair should be booked online in advance, or you can easily get there using the U6 tram or the S2X direct bus.
CMT 2026 runs until January 25th and offers the opportunity to find out comprehensively about the latest developments in caravanning and tourism - a real showcase for the travel industry.
