Daniel Letocha: New managing director for Bonn and the region!

Tourismus & Congress GmbH Region Bonn/Rhein-Sieg/Ahrweiler (T&C) has announced a significant personnel change. From January 1, 2026, Daniel Letocha, an experienced man in the field of tourist marketing and destination development, will take on the role of Managing Director. He will succeed the interim duo Hans-Helmut Schild and Ulrich Keinath, who will remain in office until the end of January 2026. On Tuesday, Letocha was officially appointed by the shareholders, including Bonn's mayor Katja Dörner, who praised his extensive experience in urban tourism marketing as well as in rural regions.

Letocha, 46 years old and native of Hennef, has over 20 years of experience in tourism. He has currently been heading the Siegen-Wittgenstein Tourism Association for a year, where he also works as managing director. Before that, he spent over a decade at KölnTourismus in various positions, including key account manager and team leader of the service hotline. His in-depth training as a state-certified business economist with a focus on tourism and his bachelor's degree in general management from the European University of Applied Sciences Brühl make him a suitable management contact for T&C.

Focus on sustainability and quality

In his new role, Letocha plans to ensure high-quality and sustainable tourism in the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg region. A central goal of his strategy is to find the balance between the needs of tourists and the interests of the local population. Letocha has already indicated that he would like to continue the strategy for regional tourism development and increase the digital visibility of the tourism infrastructure.

In addition, the Natursteig Sieg remains a personal concern for Letocha, as he plans to continue this popular hiking trail into Siegerland. His connection to his homeland is also reflected in the fact that he lives near this hiking trail and is therefore directly connected to the interests of the region.

The new managing director in the broader context

Daniel Letocha will now take responsibility for T&C's marketing activities, which focus on city and cultural tourism, event coordination and the promotion of congresses and meetings. The company is a joint project between the public and private sectors, supported by various partners, including the IHK Bonn/Rhein-Sieg and the Hotel- und Restaurant Guild Bonn/Rhein-Sieg-Kreis e.V.

His predecessor group, consisting of Schild and Keinath, had to maintain smooth operations during a transitional period. Letocha will now join this existing structure with fresh ideas and innovative approaches to further advance the region as an attractive tourism and congress location. It remains to be seen how his visions will be put into practice.

The formal confirmation of his employment and the positive response he has already received suggest that he may play a key role in the future development of tourism in the Rhineland. In this sense, expectations from both shareholders and the public are high.
