Franco-German meeting in Paris: Focus on the future of cooperation!

On June 11, 2025, the upcoming Eleventh Session of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly announced. This will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Paris. The meeting opens at 11 a.m. and can be followed live on the Bundestag website.

The session will be opened by Julia Klöckner, President of the German Bundestag, and Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the Assemblée Nationale. A central goal of this meeting is the election of the board and co-chairs.

Program and topics

An important item on the agenda is the general discussion on “The prospects for German-French cooperation”, which will last around an hour. As part of the meeting, a joint hearing will take place in the afternoon from 2:15 p.m. at which, among others, Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Marc Ferracci, French Minister for Industry and Energy, will speak.

Voting on submitted proposals and dealing with reports on parliamentary cooperation for 2023 and 2024 are also on the agenda. Another highlight is the announcement of the German-French Parliamentary Prize 2025.

Background to the meeting

The Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly was founded on March 25, 2019 to develop proposals on cross-border issues and promote the joint implementation of EU directives. With headquarters in Berlin and Paris, the assembly consists of 100 members, evenly distributed between the two countries. Your official working languages ​​are German and French.

Although the Assembly organizes important discussions and votes, it has no binding decisions and does not have its own budget. Over the years it has already held several meetings, taking place in Germany and France.
