First call of the Mein Schiff Relax: Salerno instead of Naples!

On May 15, 2025, the My ship Relax, a cruise ship from TUI Cruises, makes its first call in Salerno. A call in Naples was originally planned, but due to a short-term route change this was postponed to June 25, 2025.

The current trip entitled “La dolce vita” extends from Palma de Mallorca to Civitavecchia, Salerno, Palermo and Cagliari. Civitavecchia and Palermo were visited for the first time a few months ago. On May 17, 2025, Cagliari in the south of Sardinia will also be visited for the first time.

New itinerary and stationing

The itinerary for the Mein Schiff Relax has changed as follows: Instead of going via Naples, the journey now takes place via Salerno. The original itinerary included the route Palma de Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca, Seetag, Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo, Cagliari, Seetag and ended back in Palma de Mallorca. The new route, on the other hand, provides for Palma de Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca, sea day, Civitavecchia, Salerno, Palermo, Cagliari and another sea day.

The Mein Schiff Relax will remain stationed in the western Mediterranean until autumn 2025 and will move to the Canary Islands shipping area in the 2025/2026 winter season. The ship will sail in Northern Europe for the first time in the 2026 summer season.

Technical data and equipment of the Mein Schiff Relax

The Mein Schiff Relax, also known as TUI Schiff 8, belongs to the new InTUItion class and will be built in 2025. The ship, registered with the IMO number 9862657 and flagged for Malta, is being built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri, as is her sister ship, the TUI ship Flow, which will follow in 2026. These two newbuilds are TUI's first LNG-powered ships and the largest in the fleet, with a gross weight of 160,000 GT and a capacity of approximately 4,100 passengers and 1,100 crew members.

The Mein Schiff Relax has 19 decks, 18 of which are accessible to passengers, while 10 decks accommodate cabins. With a maximum passenger capacity of approximately 4,000, over 80% of the 2,050 cabins are outside cabins, and 80% of them are equipped with balconies. The new cabin categories include the Great Freedom Suite and the Vision Suite.

Features and culinary offerings

The ship offers a variety of amenities including an Aqua Park and an Activity Deck with a Rope Course. In addition to the main restaurant, which replaces the previous restaurant, the dining options also include an Alpine Restaurant, a steakhouse and Fugu, an Asian restaurant. The main language on board is German, and almost all drinks and food are included in the price.

Prices for cruises start at 850 euros for 7 nights and 1250 euros for 10 nights (based on double occupancy). The themed trips such as “Bella Italia & Spanish Fiesta” and “Culture and Nature on the Mediterranean” offer a variety of experiences for travelers.
