Festival Mena OCOP – Discover local treasures and delights!

The “Mena OCOP – Tourism Gifts 2025” festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 16 to 25, 2025. The MENAS Group, which is behind the event, aims to promote domestic consumption and the region's cultural values. Director-General Nguyen Duc Quynh leads tourism ministry executives to the event, which focuses on products from nearly 20 provinces and cities from the east and west of the South. Around 50 stands are expected, offering a variety of agricultural products, handicrafts and culinary specialties. The festival is marked by the participation of the Mena Gourmet supermarket, which presents regional delicacies and wants to set up a sales area for OCOP products, such as Vietnam.vn reported.

Visitors can enjoy a selection of over 700 dishes at Yum Food Village, as well as take part in cultural performances, craft workshops and culinary promotions. Travel companies such as Thien Nhien, Trieu Hao, Thuan Phong, Kiwi and Vina Group also have special cultural and health discovery trips in their program. This initiative highlights the cooperation between the tourism office and businesses, according to Le Truong Hien Hoa, deputy director of the tourism office. The event aims to promote sustainable development and create a link between OCOP products and travel and trade services.

Support for local producers

Parallel to the celebration of the OCOP initiative, the first OCOP club was founded in Binh Chanh District. This initiative aims to help farms, cooperatives and companies expand their product markets. The district already has 27 products with OCOP certification, including pasteurized goat milk, ginseng wine and honey. The founding of the club is an important step in supporting the sustainable development of local products and is supported by the administration and associations, such as VOV World reported.

The OCOP Club is seen as a platform that promotes exchange and mutual support between agricultural businesses. Tran Thanh Oanh, general manager of ABZ Food Import-Export Company, pointed out that the club not only facilitates access to markets, but also introduces quality control to increase the value of products. An organic fertilizer factory will also be developed to help members with capital, seeds and sales support. To increase efficiency, farmers are increasingly relying on modern technologies and e-commerce platforms to reduce production costs and increase their income.

In total, Binh Chanh OCOP Club currently has 24 members and plans to set up an exhibition area for local OCOP products. This shows the local community's commitment to innovative approaches that promote sustainable development in the region.
