Hessentag 2025: Bad Vilbel expects 750,000 guests and celebrates ten days!
Bad Vilbel, Deutschland - The Hessentag 2025 in Bad Vilbel, the oldest and largest state festival in Germany, starts on June 13th and ends on June 22nd. Mayor Sebastian Wysocki expects around 750,000 visitors who will experience the celebrations. The ten -day festival is under the motto "We bring Hessen on stage" and celebrates closeness to home, cosmopolitanism, culture and innovation. This makes Bad Vilbel, a city with a growing tourist interest, at the center of the country.
Daniel Kumelis, managing director of the city marketing, is confident that the Hessentag will have a positive impact on tourism in the city. "The number of visitors has risen constantly in the past five years," said Kumelis. While there were still around 55,000 tourists in 2019, Bad Vilbel 2024 already recorded around 140,000 overnight stays. This is a sign of the increasing interest in the city and its possibilities.
Event program and commitment
Hessentag offers a wide range of events, including concerts, theater performances and parties. Over 400 clubs, institutions, police, fire brigade, auxiliary services, cultural workers, associations and traders will actively participate in the festival. Thanks to the commitment of many volunteers, the festival, which is considered a festival of volunteering, becomes an unforgettable experience.
In Bad Vilbel, a new tourist information was recently opened on Frankfurter Straße, which will play a central role, especially during the Hessentag. The tourist information will act as a information point and lost property office and offers visitors advice on leisure activities such as hiking and cycling. Merchandise, such as jute bags and posters, is also sold. The opening times during the Hessentag are 12 hours a day, supported by volunteers.
Preparations and future perspectives
Before the Hessentag, inquiries about accommodations and restaurants in Bad Vilbel increased. Wysocki and Kumelis are optimistic that a good connection to Frankfurt will attract many visitors through train and highway. Kumelis also expresses that he does not believe in over -tourism because the industry has strategies for control.
After the Hessentag, the Tourist Info also plans to certify the German Tourism Association in order to further increase the quality of the offer. Bad Vilbel sees Hessentag not only as a big celebration, but also as an opportunity for sustainable promotion of tourism in the region.
