Musical Luna’s New Friends”: Experience animal protection live in Konstanz!

The eagerly awaited musical “Luna's New Friends” will take place on July 19th and 20th, 2025 as part of the Music Island in Konstanz. This reports Seemoz. The event is supported by 140 actors aged 4 to over 80 and focuses on animal protection. The musical, which was created by Nadja Adam and the “Affenbande”, tells the moving story of the dog Luna, who, after losing her human family, gets to know other animals and their living conditions. The piece is part of a tradition in which a self-written children's musical is performed annually on a topic chosen by the children, as past works about forest clearance, escape and bullying show.

The main group of the musical consists of 15 children aged 8 to 14 who were actively involved in choosing a topic, researching and creating a child-friendly story. The producers did everything themselves, from the script and music to costumes and posters. The commitment of the Musik-Insel is particularly strong, not only through its annual projects, but also through the support of various foundations such as the Reinhold Beitlich Foundation, which illustrates the importance of the work.

A comprehensive project

The Music Island, led by Nadja Adam, brings many years of experience and diverse skills. She is a member of the Association of Independent Music Schools and has been covered by the artists' social insurance fund since 2012. Adam received three awards for her commitments at the Helferherzen Commitment Prize, which underlines her high status in the community. In addition to the musical project, the music island is involved in various collaborations with municipal institutions such as the district office and organizations such as NABU and UNICEF.

An important aspect of the musical is the nomination for the Music School Prize of the Federal Association of Independent Music Schools, which takes into account the creative achievement and the important choice of topic. The performances are regularly reported in regional media such as Südkurier and Regio TV, indicating the popularity and interest in these cultural projects.

Details about the performance

The performance will take place in the Wollmatinger Hall, Schwaketenstraße 31, 78467 Konstanz-Wollmatingen. The entry prices are family-friendly: children aged 3 to 15 pay 7 euros, adults aged 16 and over pay 10 euros, both paid in cash. Tickets are available at various advance booking offices, including Musik Ebert, the Tourist Information Office, Weltladen and other local shops.

A special highlight is the preliminary program, which features promotional stands, a raffle, food and drinks an hour before the performance begins. This commitment is a testament not only to the creativity of the participants, but also to the community's connection to cultural and social issues.

In summary, it can be said that “Luna's New Friends” is an important event in the cultural scene of Konstanz and at the same time draws attention to important social issues. The Music Island initiative shows how music and theater can help promote animal welfare and community spirit.
