Important meeting in Buxtehude: The future of Hochschule 21 will be decided!

The next public meeting of the Committee for Economy, Tourism and Commercial Space Management will take place on Wednesday, May 21st at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the town hall at Bahnhofstrasse 7. Citizens are invited to take part in this meeting and to present their concerns during a question time. It is recommended that questions be addressed to the Buxtehude city administration in writing or by email at least two working days in advance.

The agenda includes several important points. Among other things, the status of the new building planning for University 21 (hs21) is discussed. For this purpose, the president of the university, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingo Hadrych, give an introduction. Also on the agenda is a proposal from the FDP parliamentary group to examine a start-up center, as well as changes to the rules of procedure of the marketing advisory board and the association funding guidelines. The composition of the Marketing Advisory Board for the term 2025 to 2029 will also be discussed at the meeting.

New building planning for the university 21

University 21, supported by the state of Lower Saxony as an example of a successful private-public partnership in education, combines self-managed university models with the structures of a medium-sized company. The executive committee and the management form the university management and act on an equal footing. All university groups are represented in the Senate, which ensures co-determination and participation in fundamental decisions.

In addition, the university receives support from over 1,000 partner companies that are willing to finance students' tuition fees. This financial basis enables the university to invest surpluses from the gGmbH's operations in the expansion of the facility and thus benefit the students.

Important decisions and changes

The upcoming meeting will also be characterized by the discussion of changes to the association's funding guidelines and the marketing advisory board's rules of procedure. Such adjustments are crucial to meet the current challenges and requirements in the higher education and business worlds.
