Record carnival on the high seas: Jeckliner delights 2,900 guests!
The TUI Cruises Jeckliner is sailing for the fifth time and has set new standards this year with its exciting carnival party on the Mediterranean. On September 19, 2025, the cruise ship Mein Schiff 2 launched in Palma de Mallorca to accommodate up to 2900 guests and 1100 crew members. The majority of travelers come from the Rhineland, where carnival traditions are deeply rooted. But visitors from other German regions, such as Hesse, the Allgäu, Hamburg and Fulda, are also on board to experience the special event.
The guests celebrate on the high seas with lots of music and a good mood. Well-known artists such as Höhner, Paveier, Rabaue, Björn Heuser and Scharmöör have gathered on board. During the trip, Cologne music is played almost around the clock, and fresh Kölsch on tap provides the right refreshment. Meanwhile, the artists mingle with the guests, sign autographs and pose for selfies, which further lightens the mood.
Artist participation and events
A highlight of the cruise was the largest sing-along concert on the sea, led by Björn Heuser. On Saturday morning, the day began with an entertaining speaker's morning drink, attended by, among others, Tom Gerhardt, Ingrid Kühne and Tim Becker. Moderator Guido Cantz emphasized that the event does not harm the traditional carnival in Cologne, but rather represents an additional celebration that penetrates the hearts of the participants.
A carnival parade on the ship provides further entertainment. Here the crew members show off their colorful costumes and theme cars, which describes the atmosphere on board as consistently positive and happy. The concert marathon features performances by other artists and keeps guests active and excited until late into the night.
Reactions from the organizers and highlights
Cruise director Max Kenntemich emphasizes that the “jecken feeling” is taken with you at sea, which makes the atmosphere on board unique. Captain Panagiotis Varotsos praises both the crew and the guests, who had no incidents to complain about despite the high Kölsch consumption.
TUI Cruises is already planning the next edition of the Jeckliner for the 2026 carnival season, which will take place on Mein Schiff 7 from September 25th to 29th. The route leads from Kiel via Visby and Rønne back to Kiel. In addition to Cologne music, renowned carnival stars such as Klüngelköpp and Marc Metzger are also expected here. This four-day trip promises once again happiness, an exciting stage program and numerous autograph sessions.
The Jeckliner packages offer premium inclusive services from the Mein Schiff fleet, supplemented by delicious Kölsch and other carnival extras. So we can only hope that this eventful journey will continue to delight the hearts of carnival attendees in the coming season.
