Rhineland-Palatinate has launched a new information campaign entitled “Tourism is a plus for everyone”, which aims to raise awareness of the positive effects of tourism. This initiative was created to highlight the importance of tourism in the economic strengthening of the region and its cities. The campaign highlights how tourism helps revitalize city centers and supports local shops, restaurants and cafes. In addition, the visibility of cultural offerings such as events, exhibitions and concerts is increased. News Koblenz reports that tourism also contributes to the care and preservation of historical buildings and monuments and that the tourist infrastructure is improved through green squares and clean pedestrian zones.

Another important aspect is increasing the quality of stay for all citizens, which is supported by the increasing demand for regional products and handicrafts as well as the creation of new jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities. Tourism not only promotes the economy, but also social interaction and creates meeting places. The campaign aims to strengthen cohesion and promote citizens' awareness of their own living environment. This initiative is part of the comprehensive Rhineland-Palatinate Tourism Strategy 2025, which was developed in a dialogue process and is supported in partnership by several organizations.

The Rhineland-Palatinate Tourism Strategy 2025, published in October 2018, serves as a common basis for the development of tourism in the region. The aim of the strategy is to increase added value in tourism and to establish sustainability as a cross-sectional task. Eight strategy projects were formulated to implement these goals. The cornerstones of the strategy include supporting the hospitality industry and developing a Rhineland-Palatinate brand. Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture Rhineland-Palatinate highlights that the focus is also on planned collaborations with other sectors, such as wine and culture as well as trade, crafts and services.

An important aspect is the importance of the citizens of Rhineland-Palatinate as guests and ambassadors for tourism. The necessary measures for future market success include, among other things, the optimization of tourism structures, a clear division of tasks and the bundling of resources. Digital transformation also plays a crucial role in implementing the strategy. The funding focuses on stimulus investments and key infrastructure, and the tourism partners are actively implementing the strategy to encourage the participation of all stakeholders.
