The entire bus tour has a period of about eight hours and begins and ends at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. The travel price is 89 euros per person and includes the bus transfer, a travel companion, church tours, organ players and lunch in the "Schmidtalien" restaurant in Dommitzsch. A sweet snack in the afternoon rounds off the offer. This tour not only promises musical highlights, but also deeper insights into the structural and sound peculiarities of the organs.
historical importance of the organ landscape of Saxony
Saxony is considered one of the most important orgellandscapes in Germany, a fact that can be traced back to the late Gothic period through the historical roots. In the 17th century, an independent organ landscape developed here, which today houses around 2500 organs. Of these, over 130 historical instruments from the 17th to 19th centuries have been preserved, many of them shaped by the work of the well -known organ builder Gottfried Silbermann.
Already the oldest demonstrable organ in Saxony, which dates from 1298, is located in the Görlitz Peterskirche. Continuing this tradition, the organ was documented in Meißner Dom 1362, in Bautzener Dom 1372 and in the Zwickauer St. Marien Church in 1383. The developments in organ architecture, especially in the Baroque under Silbermann, are famous for their high quality and durability.
brochure and registration
On the further deepening of the topic, LTM GmbH has published a free brochure entitled "Fascination Organ", which presents organs in the Leipzig region and concert highlights. This brochure is available in the Leipzig tourist information and also available online. Interested parties have the opportunity to get more information about the bus tour and to register at www.faszination-orgel.de
Overall, the upcoming bus tour not only reflects the great tradition of the organ building in Saxony, but also the commitment to preserve these sonorous treasures and make it accessible to a wider audience. While the organ landscape of Saxony has been enthusiastic about for centuries, it is still a place of fascination and inspiration for many music lovers and those interested in culture.
