When it comes to Lombok's waterfalls, Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfall are the two most popular and probably the most spectacular waterfalls on the island. They are both in the small Trekkingdorf Senaru in the north of Lombok and require a short hike to reach them.

How do you get to Sendang Gile and the Tiu Kelep Waterfall Lombok?

Wherever you settle on Lombok, there are tour operators who offer excursions to both Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfall. This is because you are the most popular waterfall in Lombok.

However,

don't let it stop you from checking them. In contrast to the neighboring Bali, you don't have to wait to take a photo. When I visited these waterfalls, we even had them all morning for ourselves! (Although we were visiting at sunrise).

If you are here to see the more well -known Tiu Kelep waterfall, then you are lucky because you will pass broadcast gile (Air Terjun Sendang Gile) on the way! From the entrance it is a short walk with a few steps until you reach the waterfall basin below.

Tiu Kelep Waterfall Lombok

The next waterfall is the Lombok waterfall highlight. In fact, visiting this waterfall is a reason why many people come to North Lombok at all. The path begins right from the point where you came to Sendang Gile. You must follow this path a broken concrete staircase, follow over a bridge and along a river. It only takes about 25 minutes to reach Tiu Kelep, and the route is not difficult. However, it is not well marked. My advice is to simply follow the obvious path until you finally reach Tiu Kelep.

Tiu Kelep after the earthquake

Many people may be surprised at the state of Tiu Kelep after the earthquake. Unfortunately, the Tiu Kelep waterfall was badly damaged by the earthquake in Lombok. The once deep swimming pool is now emptied and leaves only a flat pelvis and scattered boulder underneath. There seems to have been heavy rockfall on all sides.

However, the dense jungle now seems to have gained ground again. The walls are green again and are better stabilized by the growing tree roots. The waterfall current has also preserved its integrity. Apart from the fact that he has lost his swimming pool and standing around a few more boulders, the Tiu Kelep waterfall after the earthquake is still an epic place that should be visited.
