Over 650 hit fans celebrate for education: three schools for Zanzibar!

On May 22, 2025, the event "Night of the German Schlager" took place on Fuerteventura, which attracted more than 650 hit fans from Germany. The gala was held in the R2 Rio Calma Hotel and had an important goal: to collect funds for the construction of a new school in Zanzibar. In total, the event could collect impressive 58,470 euros, which not only sufficient for the planned school, but also enabled two spontaneous donations from guests that a total of three new schools can be built.

Known artists such as Peter Orloff, Claudia Jung, Graham Bonney, Stefanie Hertel, Nicole, Olaf Henning and Semino Rossi performed. These artists refrained from their fee to pay even more attention. The event shows in an impressive way what positive effects music and community can have.

additional actions and program points

In addition to the gala evening, the event was supplemented by a pool party with DJ Goofy Förster. Reiner Meutsch, the foundation founder of Fly & Help, and Peter Orloff, encouraged guests to donate by jumping into the pool, which was celebrated with great applause. These additional actions contributed to raising the mood of the event and motivating the guests to support.

The newly planned school buildings in Zanzibar will accommodate three classrooms and replace dilapidated structures in which up to 120 children were taught per room. The construction of these schools is part of a more comprehensive program of Fly & Help, which has previously built over 950 schools worldwide and has given more than 190,000 children in 57 countries. Reiner Meutsch thanked the guests warmly for their support and highlighted the great commitment of the artists.

This successful event is exemplary for the possibilities of interaction of music, community and social responsibility. The positive effects of the "Night of the German Schlager" show how important commitment and cohesion are also in today's world to cause real change in the education system of developing countries.
