Vacation in Turkey 2025: Prices are exploding – What families need to know!
Holidays in Turkey remain a popular destination, but increasing costs could influence the travel behavior of many tourists. Travel fans appreciate the variety of sights, the comfortable hotels and the wide selection of food. These advantages make Türkiye's value for money attractive to many. However, many tourists report that prices for their holidays in Turkey have increased in recent years. Today, tour operators are again warning of further rising costs, especially during the summer holidays, which particularly affects families. This development could mean that fewer people can or want to afford a holiday in Turkey, as Thomas Bösl, head of strategy at the Raiffeisen Touristik Group, emphasizes.
According to the Turkish daily Hürriyet, Turkey is at the top of Europe in terms of tourism inflation. The prices for hotel stays and restaurant visits rose by an incredible 42.4 percent in January 2025 compared to the previous year. In addition, prices in the hospitality industry increased by 49.18 percent over the same period. The consumer price index (TÜFE) also showed an increase of 2.27 percent in February 2025. Such increases are causing the traditional price level in Turkey, which has attracted holidaymakers from Germany in recent years, to dwindle. Especially in high season, it becomes clear that many families have to expect higher hotel costs.
Alternative booking approaches
The increasing price demands are forcing both holidaymakers and tour operators to look for alternatives. Some providers are increasingly relying on alternative accommodation and savings offers. Price-differentiated models such as the “all inclusive light” variant or modular meal packages could offer new options for travelers who do not want to exceed the budget limit. A comparison of offers from different providers is recommended in this context in order to find the best prices.
The booking situation for holidays in Turkey is facing challenges. Rising prices are having a noticeable impact on booking behavior and many tour operators are having to adapt to these fundamental changes. Competition for customers is increasing as popular travel destinations try to lure tourists with attractive offers. However, despite inflation and the high cost of living, the Turkish Riviera remains a popular attraction. The strong euro also strengthens the purchasing power of German holidaymakers, although it remains questionable whether this can fully compensate for the constantly rising prices.
The coming months will show how the development of holiday prices in Turkey will continue to develop and how this will affect the travel decisions of German holidaymakers. Anyone interested in a holiday in Turkey should therefore prepare carefully and keep an eye on the current market conditions.
