The price level for trips within Europe shows significant differences that should be taken into account when planning vacation. According to echo24 pay vacationers over 50% less or more for hotels and restaurants compared to Germany. It is particularly noticeable that Albania and Northern Macedonia offer the lowest price level for restaurants and hotel accommodations, with savings of up to 52% compared to Germany. The price levels are based on the purchase force parities of Eurostat, which means that the costs for services in different countries are compared. An example illustrates this: 100 euros for a service in Germany corresponds to 48 euros in Albania, which makes a saving of 52%, while the same 100 euros in Italy are only worth 94 euros, i.e. 6% cheaper.
The surveys on the price levels were carried out in March 2025, with other attractive holiday destinations such as Montenegro (-42%), Portugal (-35%) and Turkey (-31%). Destatis reports that the costs in these countries are therefore only half as high as in Germany.
vacationers should therefore check the price differences between the European countries to find the best offers and to plan unforgettable trips without breaking up the budget.
