From June 2025, Xavier Chardon will take on the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Citroën. Loud Leadersnet Chardon is intended to accelerate the transformation of the Citroën brand in a changing automotive landscape. He brings almost 20 years of experience with the Citroën brand and previously worked at Volkswagen, where he served as CEO of the France business since 2021.
Chardon's career began in 1994 in marketing at Citroën Italy. Over the years he held various positions in the markets of Denmark, Germany and France before moving to Volkswagen in 2012. There he took over the management of global marketing in 2014 and went to China in 2017 before returning to Europe in 2021 as market manager for France.
Positive feedback and thanks to predecessors
Jean-Philippe Imparato, Stellantis Chief Operating Officer for the Enlarged Europe region, was positive about Chardon's return to Citroën. He emphasized the need to build on the brand's recent successes and explained that Chardon's diverse career and expertise in the automotive sector will provide valuable resources for Citroën's future leadership. Imparato also thanked Thierry Koskas, who has led the brand for the last two years, for the renewal of the vehicle range, including the presentation of the new C5 Aircross, which is considered a significant achievement.
Xavier Chardon will be officially appointed CEO on June 2, 2025 and will report directly to Jean-Philippe Imparato, as Stellantis announced in a press release. The tasks that lie ahead require rapid adaptation to the challenges of the automotive industry, which is developing increasingly dynamically.
With his extensive experience and deep connection to the Citroën brand, Chardon is expected to play a crucial role in the future direction of the brand.
