Zug celebrates the opening of the modernized SBB travel center!

The travel center in Zug station will be officially opened on May 22, 2025. It is a comprehensive modernized SBB travel center, which is located directly in the train station at the city level. With a new concept that relies on personal advice, customers can be operated at various advice counters and tables instead of the conventional switches. The aim of this redesign is better and more individual advice on the offers of public transport and the leisure opportunities in the region.

The services offered in the new travel center include the exhibition of tickets for domestic and abroad, the sale of subscriptions, various leisure activities, money changes as well as a luggage and fund service. In addition, a range of articles from the SBB Shop and the Tourism Shop train is provided. The team comprises 14 employees and 10 learners, under the direction of Franz Xaver Stöckli.

The opening times of the SBB travel center are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 7.45 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition, the Zugerland transport companies are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with reduced times on Saturday. Before that an extensive renovation of the travel center will be carried out, which begins on July 3, 2024 and is expected to take around 10 months. During this time, a temporary from mobile, two -story containers will be set up at the outcome of the train station on Dammstrasse. The provisionals house seven switches that are also used by the partner companies Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG, SBB and Zug Tourismus.

Despite the construction work, all essential services such as Bancomats and locking compartments remain in operation during the renovation. Replacement parking spaces will be available in the opposite parking spaces for the needs of taxi drivers. The opening times of the provisional are Monday to Friday from 6.45 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 7.45 a.m. to 7 p.m. The goal of the renovation is to create an even friendly and more open advisory environment that meets the requirements and wishes of the customers.
