Wolf-Dieter Menkhaus, 78 years old, from Rostock, won a main prize in a competition at the Radisson Hotel at the end of March. With a field of participants of around 2,000 visitors, it was a unique opportunity to experience the Aida on a short trip from Warnemünde or, alternatively, to receive a voucher worth 2,100 euros for a boat trip. The win is particularly notable since Menkhaus did not make a similar profit in over 70 years. His wife will accompany him on this trip, which he has not yet finalized.
Originally not a big fan of competitions, Menkhaus decided to fill out a lottery ticket at the new Radisson Hotel's construction site discovery day. The winner found out about his luck late because he had deactivated roaming during a trip and didn't look at his phone much. Aida spokeswoman Kathrin Heitmann was pleased with the travel-loving winner, who has already traveled to various continents. His best vacation took him to Antarctica, while the Baltics with Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are still on his wish list.
Experiences and travel plans
The Menkhaus couple took their first cruise in the Mediterranean in 1996 and recently took a trip to Brazil. Their passion for traveling has taken them around the world and they are looking forward to new adventures.
The Radisson Hotel win is not the only one to experience. AIDA regularly organizes competitions, which are also available at free.de is reported. Participants can take part in a competition until April 30, 2025, in which an AIDA travel voucher worth 3,000 euros will be raffled off. Participation takes place via the AIDA campaign page, whereby the importance of enjoyment on holiday also plays a role.
