Stressful trip: Tokyo and Osaka top the list of crowded vacation destinations!
A comprehensive study by the travel portal “Radical Storage” has identified the most stressful vacation destinations worldwide. It analyzed more than 97,400 reviews of tourist attractions in the 100 most visited cities to uncover indicators of stress. The result shows that Japanese cities top the list of the most stressful travel destinations. Tokyo comes in a worrying first place with 25.2 percent of stress-related ratings, followed by Osaka and Kyoto with 21.6 and 21.5 percent.
In particular, the infamous Shibuya crossing in Tokyo is cited as an example of how many travelers become overwhelmed. Known for its hectic atmosphere, Osaka poses a challenge for tourists, especially in busy areas such as Namba and Kuromon Market. Although Kyoto is known for its temples and tranquil gardens, it is overrun by the immense number of tourists, making places like Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari-Taisha particularly stressful.

The study recommends planning early and avoiding peak times to avoid stress during the trip and focus on quieter sights.
