How do you get to the Cambugahay waterfalls in Siquijor?

To get to the magical Cambugahay Falls Siquijor, you have two options. Here is the breakdown.

Option 1: Cambugahay Falls + Heritage Tour

If you have little time or just want to see the best highlights from Siquijor, including a visit to the Cambugahay Falls and the Epic Salagdoong Beach, it may be a good idea to book a tour.

Note that you can try your luck to find a guide in San Juan. Or, if you are still in Dumaguete, then the one below is definitely the best you will find. It has hundreds of bookings and an assessment of 4.9/5 stars on Siquijor.

This trip includes:

  • collection/return from/to the hotel in Dumaguete
  • private tour around the island of Siquijor
  • Return trip by ferry included
  • history tour with a visit to the centuries of churches
  • dive into the turquoise water of the Cambugahay Falls and see the famous, over 400 year old Balete-Baum
  • end the day in the famous Triad Cafe with a view of Negros and Boho

This trip is really affordable and can actually become cheaper than make things independent.

Option 2: Independent option

For those of them who are already on Siquijor and plan to stay a few days to explore the island, it is far the best way to rent your own motorcycle.

You can get one in the main tourist center of San Juan for 250-350 pesos per day. The journey from San Juan to the Cambugahay Falls usually lasts 25-30 minutes on the circle fenial road.

The road is in good condition and you can park your motorcycle right next to the staircase to the waterfall (signposted). It only takes about 5 minutes to reach the main waterfall lagoon from the entrance.

If you don't want to rent a bicycle, you can take a tricycle taxi to the Cambugahay Falls at any time. However, make sure to exchange at a fair price.

About Cambugahay Falls Siquijor (description)

Entry fee: 10 PHP

Cambugahay Falls is a number of 3-stage waterfalls that result in magical blue pools with crystal clear water. As soon as you arrive, you must pay the entry fee of 10 PHP. Then you can explore and enjoy this beautiful place.

The cascading river comes from natural sources inside the jungle. This clear, clean water flows about 3 kilometers long before it flows into the ocean in Lazi Bay.

The main attraction of the Cambugahay Falls is the lowest level where there is a wide, 2 meter high waterfall that falls into a deep, blue pool (lagoon). There is a bamboo raft and a swing that have prepared the locals for their pleasure.

It costs them 50 PHP, but they can be unlimited - in my opinion it is definitely worth it!

During a visit, absolutely go upstream to visit the other levels and the more remote cold springs and lagoons.

TIP: Cambugahay Falls is Siquijors most popular attraction. Definitely arrive early to defeat the masses! We arrived here shortly after sunrise and had the place for over an hour for ourselves!
