Cebu Waterfalls Guide – Things to know
The following list of the best Cebu waterfalls will give you insight when planning your adventures. Below each waterfall on this list I also have links to individual posts that provide details on how to get to each waterfall with more photos.
Before we dive into this epic list of the 6 best waterfalls in Cebu, here are a few things you should know.
Tip: If you're short on time, you can book a highly-rated tour that visits three of Cebu's best waterfalls in a single day.

1. Kawasan Falls
Of course, no list of waterfalls in Cebu is complete without the famous Kawasan Falls.
This is the poster child for Cebu tourism, and it's easy to see why. A waterfall over 10 meters high that flows directly into a deep, aqua blue swimming hole surrounded by tall limestone cliffs with jungle vines on each side.
This made the list because it is a truly amazing waterfall. However, it is definitely not as quiet and remote as some of the other waterfalls in this guide.
That's why I created a full blog post about the upper levels of Kawasan Falls (below). Typically, people who visit Kawasan Falls take the trip to the main waterfall or see the rest on their canyoneering trips. However, it is possible to explore most of the upper levels without a guide. In saying that, you won't be able to traverse some of the upper canyons, which makes the canyoning experience so worthwhile.
If you plan to visit just the main waterfall, definitely go early! We arrived at dawn and had the whole place to ourselves for an hour in high season!

2. Aguinide cases
Another epic, five-tiered group of Cebu waterfalls that you shouldn't miss is the Aguinid Falls.
Aguinid Falls is located about 1.5 hours from Moalboal in Samboan Municipality. This is south of Ginatilan where you can find a few more epic Cebu waterfalls.

A guide is required to visit Auginid Falls. However, it is definitely worth it. There are several levels with deep jungle swimming holes and some small cliff jumps.
Aguinid Falls is great for a full day adventure. You'll have to use ropes to climb to the higher levels, tread through waist-deep water, and explore the deep Cebu canyons.
The upper waterfall is a calcium-infused limestone centerpiece that is one of the most unique Cebu waterfalls.

3. Inambakan Falls
If you are looking for one of the best and most underrated waterfalls in Cebu, you cannot miss Inambakan Falls.
Inambakan Falls is an incredible five-tiered waterfall. The lower level is a 10-meter-high waterfall that flows into a deep, blue swimming hole that rivals Kawasan, but without the crowds.
alt="haylea at inambakan falls in cebu">
Inambakan Falls is located in Ginatilan township, just an hour's drive from Moalboal. You don't need a guide to enjoy this waterfall, but if you visit, I would recommend tipping a local to show you the upper levels.
There are some small jumping spots, incredible swimming pools and unique jungle landscapes that are definitely not to be missed.

4. Montpellier Falls
If you're looking for an adventure off the beaten path with a tall, majestic waterfall that looks like it's straight out of The Jungle Book, then you need to check out Montpellier Falls.
Montpellier Falls is probably one of the most underrated waterfalls in Cebu. It seems that most people in Cebu skip it for the popular Tumalog or Kawasan Falls. However, the Montpellier Falls are definitely worth a trip.
This waterfall is located in the municipality of Alegria, just 25 minutes from the main coastal road. It takes about an hour to get here if you are coming from Moalboal.
Montpellier Waterfall is a large, single waterfall that flows gently directly onto a large boulder that sits in a deep, blue swimming hole.
If the waterfall itself isn't enticing enough, the drive there will definitely convince you. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy incredible views over the coast and glimpse Cebu's dense jungle interior
This is a great place to escape the crowds and enjoy an epic Cebu waterfall all to yourself.

5. Cambais Falls
One of my favorite waterfalls in Cebu is Cambais Falls. Similar to Montpellier, Cambais is also located in Alegria. If you want to hit two waterfalls in one day, I would suggest going to Cambais first and then ending in Montpellier.
To get here it takes about an hour from Moalboal. You can reach this waterfall either by motorbike, tricycle taxi or car. There is a small unmarked parking lot with a short 15 minute walk to reach Cambais Falls.
Once you reach the falls you will see that there are two main levels. The first has two waterfalls, both of which flow into a deep pool.
alt="Cambais Falls in Alegria Cebu">
The second, upper level has another waterfall and swimming hole and requires a short rope climb and walk to reach.
Like some of the other Cebu waterfalls, Cambais Falls offers opportunities for cliff jumping. The tallest of them is over 10 meters. If you want to jump, check out the full guide linked above.

6. Tumalog Falls
Last on the list of best waterfalls in Cebu is Tumalog Falls. Tumalog Falls is located in South Cebu, very close to the whale shark operations in Oslob.
The best time to visit this waterfall is early as it can get very crowded with people doing Cebu waterfall tours after swimming with whale sharks.
It takes approximately 20 minutes by motorbike or tricycle taxi to reach Tumalog Falls from Oslob. There is also a steep and scenic walk from the upper parking lot before reaching the main waterfall.
Tumalog Falls is a single waterfall that cascades down a large, sheer wall. This waterfall is more of a gentle river than a raging waterfall like many others in Cebu. Below there is a large natural pool for swimming. However, it's not too deep, so don't expect any cliff jumping.
However, it is still a great place to swim, relax and definitely worth a visit when you are in Cebu if not just for its easy access.

Best time to visit these epic Cebu waterfalls
The best time to visit any of the Cebu waterfalls depends on the typhoon season. There are two main seasons in Cebu; Dry and rainy seasons.
Cebu Dry Season – December – JuneCebu Rainy Season – June – December
The best time for waterfall hunting is during the shoulder season between late December and early June. This will have decent water flow while avoiding the growing hordes of crowds.
However, many of the waterfalls below are not too crowded. The most popular are Kawasan and Tumalog, where you will definitely see a lot of tourists. You might find that you could have some of the other, less visited waterfalls all to yourself, even in peak season!
