MSC Cruises: New gourmet packages for top chefs on board!
MSC Cruises has fundamentally revised its concept for the specialty restaurants on its cruise ships. Passengers can now benefit from a redesigned dining experience that comes with fixed all-inclusive prices and expanded dining packages. Loud Cruise tricks Guests pay a fixed price for a complete, at least three-course meal, which includes a starter, a main course and a dessert. Menus offer a diverse selection, although some high-priced items, such as Wagyu beef, require an additional charge.
A new feature is the flexible dining packages, which can be booked in advance for one or more specialty restaurants. These packages allow passengers to visit their favorite restaurants multiple times, with the exception of Butcher’s Cut steakhouse, which is reserved for a single visit. Guests also benefit from a 20% discount when booking a restaurant package in advance, with the service fee already included in the price.
Pricing and Offers
Pricing for specialty restaurants varies depending on the destination. For ships in the Caribbean, the prepaid price for two specialty restaurants is $79, while the onboard price is $99. Three specialty restaurants cost $111 if booked in advance and $139 on board. In Europe the prices are also comparable: two specialty restaurants cost 75 euros in advance and 89 euros on board, while three restaurants cost 110 euros in advance and 129 euros on board.
There are particularly interesting offers for the ships MSC Preziosa and MSC Divina: Here the price for two specialty restaurants is 68 euros if booked in advance and 75 euros on board. Also newly introduced is a “Welcome Package” for Seaside, Meraviglia and World Class ships on Caribbean cruises, offering a 30% discount for specialty restaurant reservations on the first evening of the voyage.
The specialty restaurants in detail
An outstanding example among specialty restaurants is Butcher’s Cut, an American-style steakhouse. It has been used since the first ships of the Meraviglia class and was also retrofitted to all ships of the Fantasia class. The restaurant impresses with its stylish, rustic ambience with dark wooden paneling and glass refrigerated display cases in which the steaks are presented. Guests can order a selection of American wines to accompany their steak.
Although the Butcher's Cut restaurant is missing from the new Meraviglia Plus-class ship Euribia, it is replaced by the Le Grill restaurant, which specializes in grilled dry-aged Black Angus beef. The Butcher's Cut locations are spread across several MSC ships, including the ships Fantasia, Splendida, Divina and Preziosa, as well as the Meraviglia-class ships such as Meraviglia, Bellissima and Grandiosa.
Another specialty restaurant that deserves mention is Surf & Turf on MSC Armonia, where guests can enjoy a variety of grilled meat, fish and seafood specialties. It can accommodate up to 38 guests and is close to the main restaurant, La Pergola. At World Europa there is also the new Pizza & Burger restaurant, which is located directly opposite the Luna Park Arena and the Games Arcade and offers further culinary experiences.
