New YACHT issue: adventures on the water and safety tips!

A notable contribution comes from photographer and author Nico Krauss, who explores the Sognefjord in Norway. Antigua Sailing Week 2025

Antigua Sailing Week, in its 56th edition in 2025, runs from April 27th to May 2nd. According to a report on Giornale della Vela This year, 53 boats are registered for the event, which is considered one of the largest regattas in the world. The event attracts North American as well as Caribbean and Mediterranean sailboats and is known for its festive atmosphere and parties.

The races are divided into different handicap classes, with special classes for women and young people. The races already took place on April 28th, with some outstanding teams standing out: Pyewacket 70 (Roy Disney, USA) won the CSA Racing 1 class, while WakeWalker (Woody Cullen, USA) won the CSA Racing 2 class. El Ocaso (Steve Rigby, GBR) won the CSA Racing 3 class. Weather conditions ranged from initially good winds to rain and later light or no wind.

In addition to reporting on the competition, YACHT magazine also features technical tests, such as the evaluation of the Hanse 590, an 18-meter vessel, as well as safety tips for sailors. These discuss topics such as accident prevention, first aid measures and firefighting.
