Ronaldo and the Saudi Arabian Super Cup: A spectacle in Hong Kong!

The Saudi Arabian Football Association (SAFF) has taken a historic step by signing a deal with SMC Group to host the 2025 Saudi Arabian Super Cup in Hong Kong. The event will take place from August 19 to 23, 2025 at the Hong Kong Stadium, which has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. Four of the best Saudi Arabian clubs are taking part: Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad and Al Qadisiyah. Ibrahim Al-Qassim, Secretary General of the SAFF, underlined the importance of this expansion for the tournament, which aims to help strengthen global relations and set a new milestone at the international level.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al Nassr, is in the headlines. He is preparing a contract extension that will allow him to stay at the club until at least the end of the 2026 World Cup. Ronaldo has set himself an ambitious goal: to score 1,000 goals in his career. If his contract is extended, he is expected to be one of the prominent players at the Saudi Arabia Super Cup in Hong Kong.

Ronaldo and his successes

On June 9, Ronaldo not only scored an important goal when he equalized 2-2 in the 2024/25 Nations League final, but also secured Portugal's victory in the subsequent penalty shootout 5-3. This follows his impressive performance last season where he set a new league record with 35 goals since joining Al Nassr in December 2022.

Despite his numerous successes, Ronaldo is still waiting for his first national title in Saudi Arabia. In a thrilling duel, Al Nassr recently lost 4-1 to Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup, with Ronaldo scoring the first goal just before half-time. Al Hilal, who won the Saudi Pro League last season, are counting on the return of the injured Neymar, who has been sidelined since October with a knee injury.

The “CR Life” museum

In addition to his sporting achievements, Ronaldo has announced the opening of his own museum called CR Life in Hong Kong. The museum, due to open in July, will showcase not only trophies but also goals and unforgettable moments from Ronaldo's impressive career. This venture is seen as a further step towards strengthening its brand and legacy.

The coming months promise to be exciting, with the Saudi Arabian Super Cup taking place in Hong Kong and Ronaldo's contract extension potentially impacting the future of Saudi Arabian football. Fans can look forward to a spectacular show as the country's best clubs compete on international soil.
