Cultural highlights 2025: festivals, art and family honors in An Giang!

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Vietnam has launched a variety of initiatives and cultural events aimed at celebrating the country's national heritage and culture this year. How Vietnam.vn reported, the focus is on coordinating cultural and artistic activities in order to fulfill the ministry's political tasks and celebrate national holidays.

A standout event was the UNESCO certificate awarding ceremony for the Via Ba Chua Xu Festival, which was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage. This recognition gives a new dimension to this important cultural event and promotes its preservation, which is in line with the international strategy for the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, such as UNESCO thematised.

Cultural events and festivities

Numerous other cultural activities are planned in the coming months. This includes organizing an art program for the International Day of Happiness on March 20, the theme of which is “Happiness for All.” Special New Year's art performances and fireworks are also planned for January 1, 2025.

Another focus is on strengthening cultural life in rural areas. To this end, the hamlets of Phu Thanh and Phu Nhon will be evaluated to meet standards for “new rural hamlets”. The ministry has also implemented guidelines for awarding titles such as “Cultural Family” and “Cultural Hamlet.”

Family culture and social commitment

In a further step, the 8th “Happy Family Art and Literature” competition will take place in 2025, in which typical families from 11 districts will take part. The aim of the competition is to improve awareness of family work and cultural activities. The agenda also includes rewards for individuals and collectives who have achieved outstanding achievements in the “An Phu Unites to Build a New Landscape” movement.

To promote awareness of social issues, activities to combat domestic violence are promoted. An important goal is to strengthen communication and prevention of human trafficking crimes, especially in remote border areas.

Celebrating cultural diversity

As part of the cultural events, the 14th Khmer Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival 2025 will also be held in An Giang, attracting seven delegations. This festival provides a platform for artisans and members of Khmer ethnic minorities to exchange and showcase their talents, celebrating the country's cultural diversity.

The ministry is therefore not only active in fulfilling political tasks, but also makes a significant contribution to the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage. These comprehensive measures are intended to enrich people's spiritual lives and support sustainable development in the cultural field.
