Vietnamese children celebrate success at the 10th Congress in Hanoi!
From May 13 to 15, 2025, the 10th National Congress of Uncle Ho's Good Children was held in Vietnam under the theme "Vietnamese Children Firmly Enter the New Era". Around 500 outstanding children from all over Vietnam took part in this significant event. The convention honors children who have made outstanding achievements in education and who emulate the teachings of Uncle Ho. These events create a platform to represent and celebrate the achievements of nearly 16 million teenagers and children in the country.
During the congress, a total of 47 students were honored with international awards and 95 with national awards. The activities included reports on the children's successes, visits to the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, as well as exchanges with the Youth Union and a visit to the Vietnamese Military History Museum.
Supported by Vinamilk
A key supporter of the congress was Vinamilk, which made a significant contribution to promoting children's nutrition with 100% sterilized fresh milk products and Susu drinking yogurt. Bui Thi Huong, the managing director of Vinamilk, emphasized the importance of nutrition for children. Vinamilk has a long history of supporting conventions and distributing food to children in need. For 18 years, the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund has distributed nearly 43 million milk cartons to over 550,000 underprivileged children.
In addition to sponsoring this congress, Vinamilk is also an advocate of the School Milk Program (SMP), which was launched in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in 2007 and has expanded nationwide since its official approval in 2016. Currently, Vinamilk is active in 23 cities and provinces in Vietnam, and over 1 million students aged 3 to 10 in Hanoi participate in the program, reaching a penetration rate of 91% within two years.
Health effects and challenges
The SMP has contributed to improving the physical health of students. For example, the stunting rate in Bac Ninh fell from 26.9% in 2013 to 23.6% in 2020. Additionally, the rate of malnutrition in Ba Ria-Vung Tau fell from 28.40% in 2007 to 18.90% in 2020. Despite this progress, UNICEF emphasizes that over 350 million children worldwide may lack access to nutrition due to the pandemic Have school food and nutrition services.
Additionally, COVID-19 has negatively impacted 31.8 million workers in Vietnam, which has also affected food supplies for school children. Vinamilk works closely with the government to reduce milk prices in the SMP and ensure children's nutrition and health.
Overall, the congress not only highlights the remarkable achievements of Vietnamese children, but also highlights the importance of nutrition and health support for the development of the next generation. Vinamilk's role as a promoter of these initiatives is indispensable.
