According to travel expert Jamie Frazer, black hard-shell suitcases are particularly commonly affected because they are difficult to identify. Suitcases in dark gray tones and blue can also be problematic. Airport boss Stefan Schulte supports these recommendations and emphasizes that brighter colors make it easier to identify luggage.

To minimize the risk, Ryanair recommends choosing bright, colorful colors when buying a suitcase. Not only are these easier to spot, but they are also easier for airport staff to find if lost. If travelers already have suitcases in dark colors, experts recommend identifying them with eye-catching features such as colorful stickers or colored ribbons.
