Activities in Jodhpur in one day
Depending on when you arrive, you may have difficulty accommodating all these activities and sights in Jodhpur in one day. However, this route assumes that you have a whole day to explore this incredible city if you do not feel free to select some of the iodhpur attractions below to create your own travel route!
If you prefer not to leave it to fate, I recommend you to book a complete 1-day tour through iodhpur. The tour that I linked below covers everything that is mentioned in this article and saves you time to haggle around RiSchas while racing to the next attraction. It is also super affordable and was rated Viator, probably the best booking page in India, with 5 stars.

Explore the Fort Mehrangarh
You just can't visit Jodhpur without seeing the incredible multangarh. It is one of the most massive forts in India and is enthroned 125 meters above the ancient city. As soon as you are inside, you can explore the historical villas, rooms, treasures and museums inside.
Visiting the fort will take advantage of a considerable part of your already packed Jodhpur day route. Therefore, I suggest driving as the first point of contact for the fort. Admission to the fortress begins at 9:00 a.m. so that you have some time before you have some time in your accommodation.
Entry to the Mehrangarh Fort costs 400 rupees for foreigners and 40 for Indians. I generally keep them up to date, but you can look again on the Jodhpur tourism website.

Photograph the blue streets of Jodhpur
Like many cities in Rajasthan, Jodhpur has a certain color that describes the prevailing architectural color scheme. Jodhpur is known as the blue city and you will find many dazzling blue streets in the entire old town below the fortress.
However, when I got up for the first time to photograph the seductive blue roads as part of my growing list of activities in Jodhpur in one day, I found that it was not as easy to find them as expected at first. So if you are in a hurry and long for stuffing the sea from blue streets into your travel route, I strongly recommend that you read my self -guided article where you will find out where you can find the streets of the blue city of Jodhpur.
Alternatively, you can also book a short 2-hour tour of the blue city after visiting the fort in time for lunch in the late afternoon at your next stop.

Browse the market goods on the Clocktower Market
After all the running, you will definitely be hungry! The next stop on this one day in Jodhpur is the central hub of the city: the Clocktower Market. This central clock tower is known as Gharante Ghar, a historical monument surrounded by a busy bazaar, which is known as a Sardar market.
Exploration of the goods for sale is an excellent way to spend the afternoon. But what is even better are the surrounding restaurants. Choose from fresh Samosas, Thalis in table width or delicious plates with Dal Baati Churma.

Stop at the Stepwell Jodhpur
Just a short walk from the Sardar market is iodhpurs of famous step fountain. If you still have daylight, this will be the last attraction on this one-day Iodhpur route.
Known as TOOKI KA JAHALRA or TOOJIS step fountain, it was built in 1740 to serve the citizens of Jodhpur as a central hub to collect water, make contacts and sell their goods and products.
Today it is a popular historical site that is ideal for photography. In addition, the step fountain attracts brave children and adolescents from the area who play a cat-and-mouse game with the security forces every day when they jump into the deep water from the buildings before they run away from a threatening beating.

End the day in a roof restaurant
What a day! I warned her that this route would go quickly. But to my defense, I didn't want you to just tip your toes, but I prefer that you sink your teeth into this incredible city - and I bet you are glad you did it! But now it's time to relax and think about the great experience you had when you explored all the best activities in Jodhpur in one day!
And how could you do that better than enjoy a hearty meal on one of the many roof restaurants and cafés from Jodhpur? There are many to choose from, everyone claims to have the best view of the fortress. However, there were a couple that I noticed. These include the Nirvana House, the Shivam Restaurant and Bob’s Hostel.
However, you may not want to run around in Jodhpur and try to find another restaurant. For this reason, I recommend staying in a hotel or hostel that has a good roof restaurant. In this way you can relax, entertain and enjoy before you lie down. If you read on below, I have a section that is devoted to the best overnight accommodation.

Accommodation in the blue city of India: Jodhpur
- Where I stayed: Bob’s hostel. This place was a child's play for me. Located near the central bell tower, with a roof restaurant with a view of the fortress and only $ 3 a night!
- Best hostel for the atmosphere: Mustache Jodhpur. Mustache is always a safe choice for a high-quality budget hostel with a great atmosphere in India. It is one of the best -placed hostel on Hostelworld and is nearby. The center of Jodhpur.
- Best hotel with a view of the fortress: The Arch Boutique. This is certainly one of the best hotels in Jodhpur. The rooms have a very rustic atmosphere and have a balcony with their very private view of the fortress!
