Naturfreunde Kornwestheim: unforgettable adventure trip to South Tyrol!

The Naturfreunde Kornwestheim took a five-day cultural trip to South Tyrol, which took a successful course due to the pleasant weather. The trip began on Wednesday last week with a visit to the Ettal monastery in Bavaria. There the travelers learned more about the 400-year tradition of the monastery brewery, which has been operated by monks since 1609. After lunch in the Braustübl, the trip continued via Seefeld and Innsbruck to the state capital of South Tyrol, Bozen.

The group was housed in a hotel on the edge of the city in Bolzano. The next day they explored the historic center of the city with a guided guider. The latter informed the participants about the eventful history and the striking sights of Bolzano. A tourist movement contributed to exploring the center, and a meeting at Waltherplatz formed another highlight of the morning. The afternoon spent nature lovers with a traditional Törggelen on a mountain farm in the Eisack Valley, where they could enjoy regional dishes and musical performances.

Various explorations in South Tyrol

Another program item of the trip was the visit to Kastelruth, which is located at the foot of the Alm. Here the travelers were able to enjoy the breathtaking landscape before continuing their exploration tour in Merano in the Etschtal. Special highlights were the gardens of Trautttmansdorff Castle, which are internationally known for their beauty. The gardens are considered some of the most beautiful in the world and offered a perfect framework for relaxed moments.

The next day the South Tyrolean Wine Route was on the program that started in Kaltern. The participants used the Mendelbahn, a funicular to reach the Mendelpass. After a refreshing walk on the Mendelpass, a visit to Lake Kalter followed. In Sankt Magdalenen, a region with a pronounced wine cultivation, a wine tasting finally took place in a winery that gave visitors a deep insight into the local wine culture.

The last day and return trip

On the last day of the trip, the South Tyrolean Speck Museum in Naturns was on the program. The participants not only got to know the importance of the bacon for the region, but also received valuable insights into the production. After an eventful stay in South Tyrol, the return journey via Landeck, Imst and Füssen, before the group arrived in Kornwestheim in the evening.
