If you're looking for beautiful, white sandy beaches and beautiful, calm turquoise waters, but would rather avoid the crowds, I've got just the thing for you. Boat Harbor is one of my favorite beaches in Tasmania and I consider this beautiful coastal town to be one of the state's best hidden gems.
Admittedly, this small coastal town is quite small. But that's how it gets its charm. This is the perfect place to visit if you want to relax for an afternoon or even stay for a few weeks! In this guide I want to cover everything you need to know about Boat Harbor Tasmania to help you plan your visit.

Where is boat harbor
Boat Harbor is an iconic coastal town in northern Tasmania, lapped by incredible turquoise waters and a beautiful white sand beach. The community is approximately 77 kilometers from Devonport or 47 kilometers from Stanley.
How do I get here?
Boat Harbor is very accessible, being just a short detour from the Bass Highway between Devonport and Stanley. However, like most regions of Tasmania, you will need your own car to get here.
The best way to navigate to the boat harbor is to paste the Google Maps pin above. Otherwise, simply head west from Devonport on the Bass Highway and turn off at Port Road. Follow this road around the bend and immediately turn right. Then continue on this narrow stretch of road until you arrive at Boat Harbor Beach.

Boat Harbor Beach
Boat Harbor Beach has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Tasmania. While this northern spot is just as beautiful as the Bay of Fires or even Wineglass Bay to the east, it doesn't get nearly as much attention.
The beach at the boat harbor is lined with white sand that slopes into translucent turquoise waters. This beach is a popular spot for locals in surrounding regions to enjoy a day at the beach, but is little visited by tourists.
