Fantastic beings conquer Leipzig: The Bestiarium at WGT 2025!
Leipzig, Deutschland - The well-known Wave Gothic meeting (WGT) in Leipzig is just around the corner. From June 6 to 9, 2025, the city is transformed into a fascinating center for all fans of Gothic, Steam Punk and Industrial. In addition to musical performances, the 32. WGT will also offer an exciting program with readings, exhibitions, parties and theater performances. The events take place throughout Leipzig and even use churches and cemeteries as a special backdrop.
A highlight of the festival is the special exhibition "Bestiarium - Monster and Creatures between myth and reality". This takes place from June 3 to June 10, 2025 in the Wartesaal of the Leipzig Central Station. The exhibition shows over 140 works by international artists and addresses fantastic and threatened animals as well as real, extinct and imaginary creatures. A lottery procedure on June 10 enables visitors to win works of art. The exhibition is open every day from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The WGT also becomes diverseMusically: several events take place in the Saxon Wartesaal on June 6th with free admission. At 4:00 p.m. Jairo Calderón performs with Mexican opera, followed by Cempasúchil, which presented precarious music at 6:00 p.m. On June 9th, the audience can look forward to Andrea Chapou (2:00 p.m.) and Horror Wolf from Valencia (4:00 p.m.).
In addition to the official program, there is the "Black Market" in the AGRA festival site, which offers sales stands for dark clothing and accessories such as custom -made vampire teeth. In addition, the medieval market "Heidnische Dorf" in the Dölitz Torhaus, opened every day from Friday to Monday, invites you to experience traditional handicrafts and live music.
For WGT visitors there are numerous museums and exhibitions with free admission as well as special tours. Free guided tours and lectures are also offered in the Grassi Museum of Applied Arts, but only in German. Classical music, opera and theater also have a lot in the program: The Gewandhaus and the Leipzig Opera offer free tickets for festival goers, whereby early appearance is recommended.
