The Ostee is worth a trip at any time of the year, but spring is also something very special here. Whether as a day guest or for a wonderful wellness holiday on the Baltic Sea, spring brings color to your stay by the sea. The dunes and sea grasses are blooming, the fields on your way from the north or south are starting to bathe the landscape in color and somehow it is there, the desire for nature, the beach, the sea and wellness. A stroll along the beach, a delicious coffee, a little shopping and wellness... Spring on the Baltic Sea is anything but everyday life. And that just has to be the case these days: …

A stroll along the beach, a delicious coffee, a little shopping and wellness…
Spring on the Baltic Sea is anything but everyday life. And that's just a must these days: recharge your batteries, relax and recharge your batteries through relaxation. But what is wellness anyway? And why is it so important now, especially after this dark season, to put your body and mind in the spring mood.

What is wellness?

How do you say? The simplest thing is somehow always the most difficult – and vice versa. I believe this is particularly true for wellness. Actually it would be quite easy. Let go, relax, let yourself be pampered, feel good: that's it. Theoretically.

What is wellness?

But in practice? There are hundreds, oh what, thousands of offers. And many, many more wishes from guests who would like to experience wellness. So we should do a little searching. Ask what wellness really is. How to experience well-being. Where is the best way to do this and how you can take this relaxed state into your everyday life, at least to some extent. I would like to do this not only alone, but also together with all of you. Feel like this article calls you to think about this topic yourself and find out what it means to you personally

I regularly receive the question: What is wellness?

Wellness is the absence of everyday life. Wellness is my personal well-being and is therefore difficult to generalize. Wellness is everything that is good for me and every person defines that differently. For some people, doing intensive exercise is a way to relax after a stressful day, while others prefer to go for a walk through the forest. Whether action or relaxation, the main thing is a break from everyday life. I always notice that it's usually just the little things that have such a positive effect.

How relaxing it is to simply have your cell phone out of your reach for a few hours. Take a leisurely stroll through the spa park and watch the clouds in the sky. Or do nothing at all for 10 minutes with a cup of tea.

Who defined that wellness only works in a wellness hotel, a spa, a thermal bath or during a massage?

Admittedly, when it comes to commercializing the term - which has become really hackneyed, but I can't think of a better one - then it stops. Whether wellness socks, wellness jam or wellness drinks. If only the word well-being is supposed to generate well-being, but costs a lot more, I personally think. This goes far beyond my way of thinking about an effective break from everyday life.

Why rest is so important

Although: Maybe we can replace the starting signal with a gentle ringing bell - after all, there doesn't have to be any noise when it comes to the topic of wellness. For me, peace and quiet actually plays a role. I don't want to be disturbed by the noise that often surrounds me in everyday life. That says a lot about what wellness means to me. Namely, by defining what it is NOT. No distractions, no stress, no noise – and no external control. To me, wellness means, quite simply: I have a good time

Wellness in daily experience

Of course that's still quite broad - but for me it gets to the heart of the matter. Just take a walk on the Baltic Sea beach, sit by the water and watch the distance?
Yes, that can be wellness. Want to take a break on an alpine pasture after a hike or drink a cold beer on a sunny bench? Yes, that can also be wellness. Driving around the curves of a mountain pass in a convertible? Exactly the same.

Wellness hotels

Of course, I can also really enjoy the wellness offerings in the narrower sense. Over the last few years, many hotels have come up with their own concepts of how they can offer their guests wellness and make them feel good. From a wide variety of massages and treatments, to relaxation exercises, to a wellness holiday tailored to your personal needs.

Why wellness actually?

Which brings us to one of the core questions: Why do I actually do wellness? For me this is simply because everyone needs islands of peace and quiet. Because he needs time for himself. Because without the phases of well-being and relaxation he would simply perish. Because then only tension and stress reign. And it’s not just doctors who know what happens next…

That's why I don't see the term wellness as narrowly as it is often used. Of course: For me, this also includes the classic spa hotels, which are defined in particular by their pools, massages and other special treatments. But there can be a lot of other things involved too...

Would you like relaxed arrangements? Selected hotels and spas offer specials in different variations. How about, for example, imperial treatment? Spa Świnoujście? Here you will find attractive packages tailored to your needs in a wellness hotel that suits you perfectly.
