On May 30, 2025, Netflix will release its latest animated film, “Lost in Starlight,” taking viewers on an emotional journey through a mix of romance, drama and science fiction. Produced by Climax Studio and directed by Han Ji-Won, the film is set in a retro-futuristic Seoul of the 2050s.
The story follows young astronaut Nan-young, whose goal is to solve the mysterious disappearance of her mother, also an astronaut. In her quest, she meets Jay, a musician and vintage enthusiast who runs an audio equipment store. A deep and unexpected connection develops between the two as they attempt to navigate the challenges of a long-distance intergalactic relationship.

When Nan-young is selected for the Mars expedition, her feelings are put to the test. Will the connection between Nan-young and Jay remain if they are on different planets? As the plot unfolds, the film will raise the question of how far love carries in the vastness of the universe.
In the original version, Nan-young is played by the well-known actressKim Tae-rispoken whileHong Kyungtakes on the role of Jay.
