In the summer of 2025, Monja Meyer from Lüdinghausen has an exciting adventure. On August 25th she begins a one -year trip to Malawi, East Africa. This decision is followed by its successful completion of the Abitur at the St. Antonius grammar school. With a distance of around 11,500 kilometers to your destination, this is not only a geographical challenge, but also a personal one who is concerned with a lot of enthusiasm.

The trip is supported by the Kolping JGD (youth community service) and the “Weltwärts” project. These programs offer young people the opportunity to support social and ecological projects worldwide. Monja will not only get to know the country and culture, but also actively contribute to improving the living conditions of the local people.

Together with participation in various projects, Monja will have the opportunity to share everyday life with the locals. This type of travel allows in -depth insights into the culture of Malawi - a contrast to conventional package tourism. Participants of these programs often report a special intensity of their experiences.

When you stay, Monja will also have the opportunity to learn more about local problems, worries and traditions. The support of non -profit projects not only promotes a solidarity attitude, but also a better understanding of the challenges with which people in Malawi are faced with.
