Mobile libraries: culture and education for all children in Dong Nai!

In 2025, students in Vinh Cuu District are actively engaged in an innovative educational project that may seem unremarkable at first glance, but has a profound impact on the community. They take part in a mobile library van model that aims to combine culture and education. The initiative particularly aims to spread the reading culture in the community and promote awareness of the importance of reading. Vietnam.vn reports that the Dong Nai Provincial Library organized a mobile library trip for children at the Dong Nai Center for Children with Disabilities at the end of May. The focus here is primarily on the needs of children with disabilities.

The goal of this library trip is to give these children access to books and introduce them to different stories and information. The mobile library offers carefully selected books suitable for visually impaired children, including Braille and raised images. For deaf children, there are sign language storytelling events and interactive quizzes that promote inclusive learning.

A mobilized education system

Despite the fact that Dong Nai does not have a dedicated mobile library car available, a pickup truck is used as a mobile library vehicle. This creative solution has already received positive responses from students. Many children who struggle with reading still enjoy the books and the activities on offer. Knowledge games, quizzes and storytelling competitions take place at Hang Gon Secondary School. These initiatives create a cultural space for students to both play and learn.

Collaboration with member libraries of the Southeast and South Central Region Library Association plays a critical role in this educational project. These partnerships enable the exchange of operating models and the organization of games in reading lessons. The long-term goal of this cooperation is a sustainable development of the reading culture in the region.

A step towards equal opportunities

The mobile library program represents an important step in the coordination of policy measures to develop a reading culture. A central goal is to enable access to literature and knowledge in remote areas in order to reduce the knowledge gap between urban and rural areas. Mobile libraries not only offer free access to books, but also a valuable resource for all children, regardless of their individual requirements or where they live.

This remarkable initiative shows how dedicated programs and creative approaches to education can make significant progress in promoting culture and knowledge. At a time when connection and access to information are vital, the project makes a critical contribution to strengthening community.
