New president brings a breath of fresh air to Nidwalden tourism!

On May 15, 2025, the general meeting of Nidwalden Tourismus took place in Emmetten, at which a change in management took place. Bruno Christen was unanimously elected as the new president. He was previously vice president and in that role assumed responsibility for the organization's finances. His involvement on the board goes back to 2021. Christoph Keizer, who served as president for several years, resigned from his post and handed over management to Christen.

In the new constellation, Beatrice Zimmermann was elected vice president. Not only does she bring experience as a former telemark racer, but she is also a health and exercise specialist at Keen on Sports. Their commitment is also reflected in their active participation in the “Mettenweg” farm and in the Stanser Wuche fair.

New to the board

Andres Lietha will be represented on the board of Nidwalden Tourismus. Since autumn 2024, he has been managing director of the Culinarium Alpinum in Stans, a culinary project that focuses on regional gastronomy. Markus Wyss was confirmed as auditor, and the new board is pursuing the strategic project “New Nidwalden Tourism” (NNWT), which is to be implemented from 2026. A central goal is to intensify cooperation with communities and local tourism organizations through performance agreements.

The Culinarium Alpinum, an initiative based in Stans NW, plays a relevant role in the region's culinary scene. The team includes, among others, Peter Durrer as host, who emphasizes the unique gastronomic positioning of the project. Jacqueline Bill heads the administration and brings valuable experience from the hotel and catering industry. Chef David Zurfluh plans a seasonal and varied menu and works closely with local producers.
