New board elected: Important decisions at the 2025 general meeting!
On May 18, 2025, the association's spring general meeting took place in the Ferdinanda Ploner Room in Wernberg Monastery. The meeting began with a warm welcome from chairwoman Renate and a prayer from Sr. Andreas. Afterwards, treasurer Karl Lechner presented the cash report for the past year.
The donation development in 2024 showed a decrease from 15.5 thousand euros in 2023 to 13.5 thousand euros. In the first half of 2025, only 3,500 euros have been transferred so far. However, a positive highlight was the donation of a pregnant dairy cow to the Visitation Girls Secondary School worth around 2,000 euros. The auditor confirmed that the cash had been processed correctly, so that the cashier was unanimously discharged.
New election of the board and honors
Erich took the lead during the new board election and led the vote successfully. The new board was elected unanimously, with Renate Maningi as chairwoman, Sr. Andreas as deputy chairwoman, Karl Lechner as treasurer, Claudio Keil as deputy treasurer, Mathilde Oitzinger as secretary and Christoph Prokop as deputy secretary. Ingeborg and Gudrun Stefan were also elected as auditors.
Another item on the program was the 25th anniversary celebration of the Visitation Girls Secondary School, which was celebrated at the beginning of the year. Elisabeth KLösch personally presented the gift in the form of a dairy cow on site. Renate presented photos of the school and the celebrations, while Erich and Inge reported on their trip and also showed photos. In addition, a speech was given by the guests of honor and a letter from Elisabeth was read out to the general assembly.
Support for students
A central aspect of the meeting was supporting needy students. The association selects the students through trusted people in order to finance their school fees. Support is only available to those whose school fees are already fully covered. Four students can be supported for 2026, with the cost per student being around 4,000 euros. In view of the high demand caused by the reduction in school years at primary schools in Tanzania, there was a unanimous decision to search for four students for the Girls Secondary School in Sanya Juu. The entrance exams are scheduled for September and October 2025.
The next general meeting will take place on October 18, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in Wernberg Monastery, which is already an important date in the calendar for many members.
