With a new era for the cruise company TUI Cruises, the new “Mein Schiff Relax” entered the maritime stage on July 13, 2025. The company released a 9-minute highlight video titled “Mein Schiff Relax: Our Summer Fairy Tale 2025” on the official YouTube channel. In the video, shipyard reporter Adriano Napoli provides insight into the ship and has the opportunity to speak with crew members, including Captain Todd Burgmann. This visual experience gives viewers an exciting preview of the upcoming voyages of the **Mein Schiff Relax**.
The “Mein Schiff Relax” was handed over to TUI Cruises by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri in February 2025 and is the eighth member of the popular Mein Schiff fleet. On April 9, 2025, the ceremonial christening took place in picturesque Málaga, Spain, where godmother Giuliana Rizzo lovingly commissioned the ship. The sister ships “Mein Schiff 5” and “Mein Schiff 7” were also present on this special occasion. Another highlight of the christening was the presence of well-being ambassador Robbie Williams, who ensured an unforgettable event.
Premiere time in the Mediterranean
The Mein Schiff Relax will begin its premiere season in the western Mediterranean in summer 2025 and has chosen Palma de Mallorca as its home port. From the port of Palma, cruise guests can discover the beauty of the region. A special feature of the ship is the overnight stay in Mallorca, which gives travelers the opportunity to explore the port in detail. The Mein Schiff Relax will remain stationed in Palma de Mallorca until autumn 2025 and will then offer Canary Islands cruises in the 2025/2026 winter season.
