Unique night: Celebrate on the art boy in Stade!
Stade, Deutschland - In the picturesque Hanshaven von Stade, the “KunstSkudder” is enjoying increasing popularity as a unique place to stay. This converted historic ship, the oldest still preserved Hamburg Alster Schute from 1904, offers a fascinating combination of art, culture and maritime flair. Bianka and Thomas Gunter celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on the art boy and described the bunk as "cozy". The couple from Bremerhaven booked a stay of three nights.
The KunstSkudder not only offers intimate accommodation for travelers, but also a look at the history and culture of the region. It is located in the disused historic Hansry port, right on the old town of Stade, and used to be a 18 meter long load bar with a flat floor. After a comprehensive restoration that cost 6,000 euros, the boat was lifted to its new location in November. The idea for rental came about after Corona pandemic and was funded by grants from a fund to revitalize the city centers in Lower Saxony.
Unique living concept and equipment
The KunstSkudder offers its guests a well -equipped kitchen, a maritime style living room and a sleeping bunk that can be reached via a narrow staircase and ensures a view of the sky with two large windows. Loudsueddeutsche.deThe boat also has a small hallway with a wardrobe, a bathroom and a living area with a long counter, couch and dining table, which can be converted into a second bedroom at night.
A beach chair invites you to relax on the roof terrace. The accommodation costs are 120 euros per night for up to four people, whereby a minimum stay of two nights is required. Simple bookings are possible through the Stader Tourismus Society, which also offers further information about the environment.
Creative support and occupancy
The art boy is not only a retreat for tourists, but also a space for creativity. Artists have the opportunity to live on the boat two months a year, supported by a scholarship. The next application deadline for creative ideas is at the end of May. The demand is enormous: the boat is fully booked every weekend, with free appointments still available in summer. The environmentally friendly design, which consists of 80 percent of paper and comes from the Berlin artist duo 44flavours, is positively emphasized by many guests.
With its unique location and the combination of art and maritime lifestyle, the art boy is a refreshing novelty in Lower Saxony. The ambiance of the historic old town and the proximity to sights, restaurants and cafés make your stay a special experience - not only for couples and small groups of travel -loving people, but for everyone who is looking for an extraordinary place.
