Olching is becoming a wellness oasis: Vabali-Spa is launching in 2025!
The Vabali spa chain is planning to build its first wellness oasis in southern Germany in the Olchinger Geiselbullacher industrial area. The planned spa will offer a variety of facilities including 13 saunas, four steam rooms, four pools, a restaurant and massage services and a hotel. The total cost of the project is approximately 60 million euros, making it one of the largest wellness projects in the region. The goal is to open the spa by 2027.
The future hotel will provide 120 beds, ranging from standard rooms to luxurious rooms with free-standing bathtubs. Around 250 jobs are to be created at the location, which is also expected to have a positive impact on the local economy. Mayor Andreas Magg (SPD) expressed optimism that the spa could support the city with up to one million euros in trade tax.
Construction and permits
The approval process for the project is already well advanced. However, there were discussions about the street name “Alois-Sabbadini-Straße”, as it was perceived as too complicated. The building site is located on the B471 and topsoil has already been removed. Construction is expected to begin this year, with an estimated construction time of a maximum of two and a half years.
The city council discussed the project intensively. Ewald Zachmann expressed concerns about the settlement in the industrial park, while Tomas Bauer from the CSU described these concerns as a “bogey” and voted for the development plan. The Vabali Spa will also provide bathing facilities for guests, although entry will only be permitted for adults. Children and cell phones are not permitted in the spa, helping to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Prices and offers
The day ticket is currently available for around 50 euros. There will also be the option to gain hourly access. Opening times are from morning to midnight and a dress code of bathrobe or non-textile clothing is expected. In addition, the spa will be connected to the Olching district heating network, but the saunas will not be able to be operated with it.
The Vabali Spa concept follows the motto “sanus per aquam” (healthy through water) and aims to create an oasis of relaxation and well-being that is intended to attract both locals and visitors. The anticipation for this project is palpable in Olching and it remains to be seen how the plans will develop in the coming months.
