Trombone fireworks: Trombone Attraction delights in Villach!

The renowned trombone quartet “Trombone Attraction” will give a rousing concert in the Congress Center Villach on Monday, May 19th. The ensemble has been active since 2006 and has made a name for itself in the music scene. The members of the foursome are Stefan Obmann, Christian Poitinger, Martin Riener and Raphael Stieger. Since their inception, they have won numerous competitions and given hundreds of concerts in different countries, recording and selling four and a half CDs worldwide.

The concert program includes an exciting repertoire that includes works by great composers such as Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Hoagy Carmichael, Frédéric Chopin and Duke Ellington. Pieces by Thelonious Monk, Toots Thielmanns and Hugo Wolf will also be heard. The concert starts at 7.30 p.m., with tickets available in advance via Ö-Ticket. Tickets are sold both online and in ticket offices.

Diverse repertoire and special topics

Particularly noteworthy is the concert on Sunday, May 1st, where “Trombone Attraction” performed under the title “Ode to cheekiness”. This concert addressed positive sass and intellectual independence. Works by well-known composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Leonard Bernstein, Giovanni Gabrieli and Astor Piazzolla were presented. Daniel Muck also found his place in the repertoire.

The members of the ensemble play different trombones: Stefan Obmann plays the tenor trombone, Christian Poitinger plays the bass trombone, Martin Riener plays the tenor and alto trombone, and Raphael Stieger also plays a tenor trombone. The event in May was another highlight in the career of the quartet, which always impresses with original programs. Tickets for the concerts are available at various ticket offices, although it should be noted that there is no box office available.
